What is voluntary return?
In Portugal, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) assists Voluntary Return and Reintegration through the Support Program, co-financed by the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (FAMI) and the Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum (AIMA).
The successful implementation of the program requires collaboration and involvement from various stakeholders, including migrants, the Portuguese Government, AIMA, the extended network of local partners, CLAIM (Local Centres for Support for the Integration of Migrants), CNAIM (National Support Centres for Migrant Integration), and countries of origin.
Who can benefit from the Voluntary Return and Reintegration Support Program?
This program benefits migrant and nationals of third countries who wish to return voluntarily to their country of origin but lack the means and require support. For more information, please refer to the Voluntary Return page.
