Fundão Project Among the 25 Finalists for the European Funds Awards 2025

The 25 finalists for the European Funds Awards have been announced, recognising the most innovative, sustainable and transformative projects supported by the European Union in Portugal — among which a project from Fundão stands out.

The Municipality of Fundão, in partnership with several local entities, developed the Fundão MEDEIA project, co-funded by PO ISE, with the aim of promoting the integration of migrants, applicants for international protection, beneficiaries of international protection and the Roma community. Inspired by the Municipal Plan MIXin, the project created a network of local mediators to strengthen social cohesion, working across four key areas: education, training and employment, health and inclusive citizenship.

Through initiatives such as Escola-te!, Intercultural Education, Medeia Trabalho, Capacita-te and Escola MEDEIA, concrete measures were developed to facilitate social and professional integration while reinforcing intercultural dialogue.

The winner will be announced in December 2025.
