Cultural Explorers: Communication Mission

Parque Verde was full of curious voices, smiles and multicultural challenges!

As part of the educational project “Discovering the 4 Cities”, the intercultural mediators from the Fundão Migration Center and its social worker led an interactive session with 3rd and 4th year students from the sister cities of Fundão, Marinha Grande, Montemor-o-Novo and Vila Real de Santo António.

In “Cultural Explorers: Communication Mission,” students embarked on a symbolic journey through several “cultural zones,” each with unique rules for communication—from gestures and expressions to metaphors and touches. The mission? Overcoming cultural barriers, collaborating as a team and filling the cultural passport with stamps earned in each challenge.

In the end, there was sharing, reflection and a lot of learning! Because communicating is much more than speaking the same language — it’s listening with your heart, adapting and respecting differences.
