CLAIM Fundão was created in January 2006, as part of the Social Action and Health Service of the Municipality of Fundão and is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Fundão and the Integration, Migration and Asylum Agency (AIMA).

It is a support structure for emigrants, established through a Cooperation Agreement between the Town Council of Fundão and the General Directorate of Consular Affairs and Portuguese Communities (DGACCP). The municipality aims to offer a free, efficient, attentive, and humane service through this office. The office facilitates the processing of matters with public bodies for Portuguese citizens residing abroad and family members who have returned or are considering returning to Portugal temporarily or permanently, assisting them in their reintegration and informing them of their rights. Additionally, it collaborates in preparing the departure of Portuguese individuals wishing to emigrate. Established in 2016 by the Town Council of Fundão, the Centre for Migrations of the Municipality of Fundão is a municipal facility dedicated to ensuring secure and suitable housing for seasonal workers arriving in Cova da Beira and international students from PALOP countries. These students have enrolled in courses at professional and university education institutions in the region. In 2018, in collaboration with the High Commission for Migrations, the municipality introduced the Office for Inclusion and Cultural Diversity (GID) within the Centre. Comprising an interdisciplinary team, the GID is responsible for managing the facility and implementing projects related to reception and integration in the Municipality of Fundão. This collaboration also led to the establishment of a Refugee Centre. Noteworthy projects developed by the Centre include Casa F – Refugee Reception Centre, the Municipal Plan for the Integration of Migrants (MIXin), Attraction, Integration and Training of Third Country Nationals, the Strategic Plan for Cohesion and Integration of Migrants, the Operational Program for Municipal Mediators (Fundão MEDEIA), the Itinerant Proximity Service (On Wheels), the MigrAÇÃO Project, and an exchange of experiences. The "On Wheels - Migration Centre" results from the Municipality of Fundão's application for funding from the Fund for Asylum, Migration, and Integration (FAMI). This service operates across the parishes of the municipality, bridging the gap between the migrant population and essential services during the integration process. Additionally, the project is supported by a team of three mediators who enhance and facilitate the relationship between the service and the migrant community, thus ensuring effective and tailored responses. The initiative provides proximity support to migrants across the municipality, addressing bureaucratic areas, accommodation, education, training, employment, and health, and promoting inclusive and participatory citizenship. It establishes connections between migrant communities and municipal services through proximity support and the collaborative efforts of the mediators.

The Incubator A Praça, recognized by the National Network of Incubators, includes facilities and services to nurture new business initiatives. Managed by the Municipality of Fundão, a founding member of RIERC, it is an accredited entity providing services through Incubation Vouchers. With the skills and responsibilities to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, its main objective is establishing territorial cooperation networks and disseminating innovative logic, technological support, and innovative entrepreneurship.
