Comboios de Portugal donates furniture to the Fundão Migration Center
As part of its Social Responsibility policy, CP-Comboios de Portugal donated the furniture from the recently closed dormitory in Covilhã to the Fundão Migration Centre.
The Fundão Migration Centre, a branch of the Fundão Municipality's Office for Inclusion and Cultural Diversity, welcomes migrants from 23 nationalities.
This centre develops activities focused on welcoming, integrating and empowering migrants, helping to build a more inclusive and diverse community. This project was awarded the Bronze Prize in the European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity 2023 by the EU.
With the donation of CP's furniture, several migrants will now have access to more dignified housing conditions, strengthening the strategy to combat desertification in the interior of the country.
The arrival of new residents in areas of low population density stimulates the supply of skilled labour and boosts the local business fabric, enhancing the development of the entire region.
