World Cafe: a participative event to listen the community

It was held on October 26th at the Casino do Fundão the event “World Cafe”. For one morning, it was presented the work that has been developed by the “O Lugar-Comum” team with the collaboration of the Fundão’s Migration Center, within the scope of characterizing the migrant population and those sheltered in the Municipality of Fundão and evaluating the conditions promoted for integration from the perspective of migrant communities.

Also in this session, it was collected contributions from citizens from various migrant and sheltered communities residing in the Municipality and Portuguese citizens belonging to the local community, focused on the areas of “participation and leadership”, “learning the Portuguese language”, “employment and professional training”, “access to housing” and “attraction of families and young people”. This process aims to give the community a voice so that, in the future, those inputs can be considered when developing strategies and municipal public policies in the field of welcoming and integrating migrants.
